Psychological therapy in the comfort of your own home

If you think that you would benefit from psychological therapy but know that you would struggle to attend face-to-face sessions, then telephone or video call could be right for you.

Some clients prefer to talk via telephone or video for a number of reasons, including:
  • you prefer the comfort, safety or convenience of being in your own home whilst exploring emotional difficulties
  • work or family commitments
  • living outside of Newcastle upon Tyne or the UK
  • a desire to access a therapist who does not live in your local area
Sometimes, if face-to-face therapy seems too daunting and anxiety-provoking, telephone or video call therapy can be seen as a first step towards face-to-face therapy.  Other clients might prefer a combination of face-to-face and telephone or video call therapy sessions.
Telephone or video call sessions are held just like individual face-to-face sessions on a regular appointment basis.  It is up to you whether you would prefer them to be conducted over the telephone or via video call.

“I had telephone therapy with Kathleen.  She is easy to talk to and non-judgemental.  I feel I have taken back control of my life".

BH

“My son, Ben, who has ASD and extreme anxiety, had seen four different therapists before we came to see Kathleen.  She is by far the best of them! She gave him the tools to function better in social situations and manage his emotions.  Her sessions have made such a difference.  He is now medication-free and due to start at college!"
